I brought three months of slips and the motorbike booklet with the fat last payment. Seeing that payment sitting alone in October, away from the school term, was the whole point of the afternoon. We did not become suddenly thrifty. We stopped planning a wedding gift in the same month.

These accounts name the sitting and the constraint. They are from households and shopkeepers who agreed to be quoted. Surnames are given when the client asked for that, and withheld when they did not.

The bonus was already promised to the sinking fund.
Kittisak Ruengrit and his wife both work, one near Lat Phrao and one closer to Min Buri. They had a condo fee, a sinking-fund top-up their building had announced, a secondary-school invoice, and gold that Kittisak’s mother still keeps in her bedroom cupboard. Every April they argued about Songkran travel as if the bonus were unallocated.
At the gathering sitting the sinking-fund letter and the school invoice landed on the same two months as the trip they had half-promised to his wife’s sister. Niramol drew the bonus as a ribbon that stopped at the building’s demand. The trip was still on the sheet, but only in the weeks after the fee, and smaller. The gold stayed locked, labeled as his mother’s to move, not theirs.
The first printed sheet was crowded. Kittisak asked for the school months to be pulled away from the motorbike installment, which had been drawn on the same line because both were “fixed.” The revision took an extra week. He says the second sheet is the one they keep on the sideboard. The first one taught them to insist on separation, and he wishes that separation had been offered before the print.
Arthit made me keep Tuesday. I had been telling my sister the stall was fine because Sunday covered the week. Tuesday does not cover the market fee. I now restock on Wednesday. The month is not richer. It is less surprising.
Somchai P. · small-shop ledger reviewI retire from the warehouse in March. The sketch put the provident fund on the far right of the sheet and the cash tin on the near edge, and it refused to let me treat them as one amount I could spend on a new car. My husband argued with the rent line, then went home and found the contract, and the line was right. The sitting was long. I was tired at the end, and I was glad nobody tried to sell me a plan.
Wipa Boonma · retirement sketchMy sister had not been at the drawing, and she arrived ready to be annoyed. The reading was slow in a way that irritated me for the first twenty minutes. Then she stopped the sheet at the gold line and said she had already promised our mother it would not be sold this year. That promise was not in my head when we drew the map. I am glad it is written down now. I still think the hour could have moved faster once we agreed.
Anong S. · family readingWe asked for the visit at the house because my father does not like the traffic on Ramkhamhaeng at dusk. Niramol came, sorted the folder on our table, and refused to draw until we found the condo invoice. The later sittings were at the office, which was the right call. The sheet is plain. Our argument about Songkran is quieter.
