Cookies and the consent choice

This page describes what a cookie is, what this site stores, and how to clear it. It sits alongside the privacy note.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a site can ask your browser to keep. They can remember a login, measure visits, or hold a preference. Similar storage, such as localStorage, stays in the browser as well, even though it is not sent to the server with every request.

What this site uses

The pages you read do not require an account. We do not run an advertising network and we do not set an analytics cookie of our own. The only choice we store is whether you accepted or rejected this notice, so it does not reappear on every page.

Rejecting the notice does not close any page, form, or sitting description. Accepting it does not turn on extra tracking. Both buttons record a choice and hide the notice.

Name Purpose Duration Provider
focusquarry_cookie_consent Remembers Accept or Reject for this notice. Stored in localStorage, not as a cookie sent to our server. Until you clear site data for focusquarry.click Focus Quarry Analytics, in your browser
Typeface request The pages request letterforms from Google Fonts. That request may be logged by Google. We do not receive a copy of that log. Set by Google, if at all, under Google’s own rules Google

Essential and analytics

The consent record is essential only for remembering the notice. The site functions if it is missing. We do not set a first-party analytics cookie, and rejecting the notice does not disable a tracker, because no such tracker is loaded by us.

Third parties

Google Fonts is the third-party request described in the table. If you block it, the pages still load and the browser uses its own serif and monospace faces. We do not embed video, payment widgets, or social buttons.

How to manage or disable storage

You can clear cookies and site data for focusquarry.click in your browser settings. That removes focusquarry_cookie_consent and the notice will show again. Browser vendors document this under privacy or site settings. You can also refuse the notice with the Reject button. Blocking all storage does not block the form. If storage fails, the notice says so and the pages remain open.

Effect of disabling

If you disable storage, you may see the notice more often. The sittings, fees, field notes, and contact form stay available. If you block Google Fonts, spacing may change slightly and the words remain readable.
